A ten minute delay in our appointment for our 2 cats annual checkup and boosters, vet was knowledgeable and helpful, overall took about 50 minutes and reasonable value for money, including prescriptions for flea medication. Prescription had to be emailed later that day due to a printer crisis.

We recently moved locally and registered our 16yr old jack russell with the Looe branch. In total she had four visits to the vets and all were of a good standard of care. The last couple of visits were because she had become ill and despite vets best efforts they could not be sure of the cause. When I got her home after her last visit I found a large tick attached to her throat, I contacted the practice and asked to speak to the vet who treated her, I was told she will call me back and after waiting two and a half hours I decided to visit the practice, the reason being they were due to close in 30 minutes. I would like to be clear at this point I have no issue with any of the vets or staff at the practice, my only concern was the vet who treated her was made of the Tick to ensure she was getting the best care with all the facts. After wating a while one of the nurses handed me a phone and said a vet at our callington branch wants to speak to you, he introduced himself as Hamish and I presumed he was a senior member of staff, I explained what had happened and said I'm not here to complain his immediate responce was "well there was no need to say that then was there" this was was from a vet I had never met before and had not had any involvement in my dogs care, he was clearly on the offensive and showed no empathy, the remainder of our conversation went very much the same, in my opinion he had no interest in the dogs care and was clearly on the phone with intent to deal with what he thought was a problem. This is really unfortunate as we have been happy with the standard of care up to this point but I'm afraid knowing our dog could have her care decided by Hamish is not acceptable.

We have used Calweton Vets from the very first week's of our lovely dogs life to the very end. 15 years of excellent service both at Callington, and more recently Loee. Thank you for always treating him with care, dignity and compassion.

Yesterday was my first visit to Calweton Vets in Looe with my two kitties. I was so happy that both the lady at reception and the vet were warm, friendly and cheerful. Throughout the whole experience, I was made to feel like a valued and welcome visitor and that my cats’ comfort and health were considered paramount. I know that finding a new veterinary practice after a move can be somewhat daunting, especially when you’ve used somewhere happily for many years, but after my experience yesterday, I feel like I’ve struck gold.

Positive visit at Looe Calweton vets yesterday. Always welcoming and Emma, our Vet was very patient and kind to Henry who can be nervous and belligerent when being examined. Another rescue dog with sone behavioural issues!! Excellent tips from Emma on how to train Henry to accept future examinations more calmly. I shall be buying a child’s stethoscope 😁👍 Thank you Emma.
