I recently moved my Cat to Penmellyn Vets in Pool, Redruth. Every time I visited I was assigned a different Vet. The first two I saw were interested, informative and helpful. The third visit I met with a Vet who had not really looked at my Cats notes, had not the slightest empathy, was not interested in looking at her, did not even weigh her, (she is ill), did not apologise for the fact that I was waiting to receive results of a swab test which cost over £250.00 and told me the test result had come in 6 days earlier. We are very busy here, with over 50 Vets, we can't do everything he said. Then after a discussion as to the result and what the follow-up would be - I was told I had to leave as my 15 minutes were up. I have left the practice.

Poor communication, took advantage of the ability to bundle additional unnecessary products just because the vet decided we needed them. Did not discuss full costs, again just assumed that £84 for an ear infection treatment was appropriate 😡. Lucky that we were in the position to pay the extortionate amount!

Not 1 star 0 stars, KEEP YOUR BELOVED ANIMALS FAR AWAY. Generally disgusted with this vile veterinarian practice, we just lost our baby boy because of this vets Monday evening around 16:00pm I noticed my boy had not moved much that day and had difficulty using the bathroom, we called Penmellyn vets around 16:30, they told my partner they have more serious things to deal with, also that my boy’s condition was not an emergency? Then we got told to come back early the next morning, no one mentioned anything about an appointment, Penmellyn vets shut at 18:00pm, me and my partner came back the next day to be faced with a rude, sarcastic, unprofessional receptionist who tried to scold us for not making an appointment the previous day. She then sent us home for another 3/4 hours until they were ready to see my boy, obviously by now his condition is considerably worse. Eventually we got seen at 10:45/11:00 am. by this point he had gotten so bad they told us we need to say our goodbyes……. Absolutely no support or any help for him. Just took his life. then to add insult to injury one of them, came in with his body in one hand and a card reader in the other, like come on love give me 5 minutes to process the situation, and grief my baby boy. A VET SHOULD CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL NOT YOUR MONEY!!!

Always amazing, flawless service and level of care. I couldn't be there when my eldest cat was sent over the rainbow bridge due to self isolating and the card in the post was just what I needed. When collecting her little casket today I had a bit of a moment and broke down when the lovely lady on reception brought her out to me. I needed a cuddle in that moment but her voice and words made me feel a lot better when I couldn't get my words out. The service when I take my 1 year old kitten in is also always amazing too, even if she is terrified every time 😂.

Can't recommend these vets enough, Jason looked after our little Narla over the years and we can't thank him enough. Sadly we lost our girl in January 2021 and they were so helpful sending us information on what we could do for narla. Thank you again.
